MAC Venoumous Villians Collection- Mini Haul w/ swatches

I was excited to hear about this collection when I first heard it was coming out...Venomous Villians...it just sounded so dark and sinister..lol. I knew the colors would be amazing! I am not a huge Disney fan, but it was still cool to see the MAC collection featuring some classic Disney movie Villians we all know. The collection consist of four mini collections: The Evil Queen from Snow White, Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmations, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, and Dr. Facilier from The Princess and The Frog.

So my initial shopping list for this collection shorten when I realized I either had similar colors or the item was easily dupeable. I  would rather buy something unique and/or something I don't have a close match for. Initially, I got from the Evil Queen collection Bite of an Apple blush, from the Maleficent collection My Dark Magic mineralize eyeshadow, and Violetta lipstick.

Bite of an Apple is a very pretty matte coral pinkish color. Very pigmented and buildable. My Dark Magic is defnitely a more pigmented mineralize eyeshadow than most. Very pretty dark purple color. Violetta is just love! More bold than I usually go for, but I love purple anything lol. It is a very pretty purple, magenta color. It looks good with Revenge is Sweet lipglass from the collection, but I knew at first sight this would be perfect with my Milani 3D gloss in Fashion Diva. This combo is the bomb! :)YES...just three items at first....BUT because of the addict that I am I went back to my MAC counter and picked up the LAST Toxic Tale lipstick and Briar Rose Beauty powder.

I had been originally interested in the Briar Rose beauty powder but after seeing and swatching it in person for the first time it seemed too sheer and looked extremely similar to MAC's Coygirl blush...IMO. But then I started to see more swatches on WOC and I just had to have it. It is definitely a buildable color and very pretty. So it was not love at first sight but I am definitely in love now!

Toxic Tale was a different story. This is definitely a bold and bright color. I had not even considered it before I saw swatches online. I am a more neutral, brown lipstick wearing kind of girl. But because I saw so many pretty looks with the color, I decided to be daring! It is definitely unique and going out for the night worthy...

I am OK with what I did get. I do love MAC...I have just been learning to control myself when it comes to buying their products....they're not the most least expensive. I do have a weakness for their paint pots, blushes, and pigments..so that is what I mostly buy. Also love their Mineralize Skinfinish Natural...use that everyday.

So the collection to me was really nice. There are definitely some amazing colors and products to choose from. For the die hard Disney fan this collection is a dream come true. Definitely check out worthy!

So what items did you pick up from the collection? Let me know :)

BTW Sorry for the not so great pics...I just wanted to give you a general idea of how the colors look on skin :)

Tarte Cosmetics- Femme Naturale & Eye Couture Palettes

Hello fellow addicts!! Been a little while since I last posted....busy busy. Well I have still been doing a lot of shopping..I think a little too much actually! But if I didn't I wouldn't have so much to share so... This post is a review of my Tarte Cosmetics palettes I hauled a while back doing their friends and family sale. I was able to get this for 40% off. I have always been interested in trying Tarte Cosmetics, so as soon as I heard about the sale I had to jump on it.

I ordered two palettes. The first palette is the Femme Naturale and the other the Eye Couture day to night palette. Both palettes include ten beautiful eyeshadows. Tarte Cosmetics promotes the fact that their products are all natural and healthy. Tarte Cosmetics website states their eyeshadows contain 'skinvigorating' ingredients, natural fruit and plant extracts, vitamins, minerals, and are formulated without parabens, phthalates, sulfates and synthetic fragrances.

The Femme Naturale palette contains more neutral, earthy colors. Browns, bronzes, plums, sand, gold, and green. I love this palette for everyday looks. The Eye Couture palette contains more dramatic, smoky eye colors. Bronzes and charcoals. This palette can also be good for a day time neutral look but also transitional for a dramatic night time look.

I am very impressed with the quality of these eyeshadows. They are very soft and natural. Some I will admit are more pigmented then others, but the overall quality is good. I think I like the packaging as much as the palettes. Both come in a gorgeous plum color wrapping ( I love purple toned anything!). Check out the pictures below.

The palettes also included a nice double-ended eyeshadow brush and double-ended eyeliner. I was surprised at the quality of the brushes too. Usually the brushes that come with palettes are throw aways, but not these. I will definitely keep these for travel. The palette is also reusable and refillable. Once you finish an eyeshadow you can refill with more Tarte eyeshadows.

These beauties retail for $44, which IMO isn't a bad deal for ten good sized, quality eyeshadows. So if you haven't tried Tarte Cosmetics. I would definitely say give these a try!

Sinful Colors Nail Polish Mini Haul- Walgreens .99 cents Sale

This week I learned from my local mailer Walgreens was having a sale on Sinful Colors nail polishes for .99 cents with coupon...soooo of course I rushed to my local store to pick some up! Although I see these polishes all the time in Walgreens, I haven't really tried them in the past. I have been stuck on my beloved China Glaze polishes. Love those! Sinful colors definitely has a very good array of colors to choose from. So with the sale this was the perfect opportunity for me to try them out.

I had a definite hard time choosing I must say! I love colors! It just makes me happy to see so many different colors. Fortunately, I was able to narrow my purchase down to seven. I choice more pinks this time because lately I've been picking up more blue, purple, and green polishes. I don't really have a lot of pinks, so I was happy to find some here.

The colors I picked up are: Cream Pink, Pink Forever, Big Daddy, Thimbleberry, Boom Boom, Mint Apple, and Dream On. I love the names too! Well, I just wanted to share this little haul and deal. So check with your local Walgreens before the sale ends Saturday, August 14.

Happy Shopping!

Rock & Republic Cosmetics Blush Rave w/Swatches

Got something good in the mail today...(actually something Great)!! YES....my beautiful new Rock & Republic blushes!! These are some beauties I must say...I have heard about R&R from a few forums and everyone raved about them. So of course, I had to see for myself. Luckily with R&R's current sale of 50% off with code: ROCKCOSMETICS and .99 cent shipping...I was able to snag a couple of their blushes.

I got the colors All-Nighter and X-Rated. All-Nighter is the perfect orange blush I have been seeking! It is a a dark coral orange with gold reflect. This one is a shimmer. Very nice and PIGMENTED!! X-Rated is a beautiful raspberry pink blush. It is more of a matte with a tiny bit of shimmer. I Looove these blushes. I am incredibly impressed with not only the color and pigmentation, but the packaging is so nice. It comes in a very sturdy, metal pan and they just look expensive.

I was able to get these for $20 with the current sale, but normally they retail $40. Yes..a little bit high IMO. But I am happy to get these when they go on sale. So I will definitely be ordering more of these. You can also catch these on sale from time to time on Hautelook.com. Well, I just had to share my excitement for these blushes. Please check them out because they are so worth it!!

Urban Decay Naked Palette Review!!!

I know most people in the makeup world have heard by now about Urban Decay's newest addition the Naked Palette. I was finally able to snag this on Sephora's website!! This palette first appealed to me when I heard it was full of neutral colors. Typically, I am a neutral eyeshadow kinda girl. Although, I don't discriminate against some color now and then...

First, I must say that I LOVE Urban Decay eyeshadows. Yes, they can be on the higher end in terms of cost, but they are for sure quality products. They are soft and blendable, which is extremely important to me. This palette is no exception! The palette, which is wrapped in a lovely velvet chocolate cover, includes 12 eyeshadows, a double-sided 24/7 eye pencil in Zero (black) and a new shade named Whiskey (brown), and a mini eyeshadow primer potion, which is great for travel. Some of the eyeshadows in the palette are Urban Decay's most loved shades such as: Smog, Half-baked and Toasted. Also, there are some new ones such as Hustle, Darkhorse, and Creep.

The colors offer good versatility for many different eye looks from a toned down neutral to a highly dramatic look. This has been my go to palette for my rushed mornings before work. I Looove this palette! I know many people will love this because it is convenient and easy solution for an everyday or work look. For $44 retail, this is a great deal because you are getting a nice assortment of quality eyeshadows from a great brand like Urban Decay. So for ladies that have been wanting to try Urban Decay, but have shied away from their usual colorful palettes this is a must have!! Go out ..I mean RUN out and get it! So worth it IMO...

Elf Cosmetics BeautyBooks Haul/ Review

So on a regular trip to Target ( I LOVE Target! :) I came upon these  Elf BeautyBooks. I must say these are just wonderful!! They are basically palettes of eyeshadows consisting of 12 beautifully pigmented colors. I was rather surprised by how pigmented and nice they are. The eyeshadows are very soft and easy to blend. I have a lot of MAC veluxe pearl eye shadows, which are known to be extremely soft and blendable, and these Elf eye shadows are truly a rival IMO!

The BeautyBooks come in three different editions: the Neutral Eye edition, Smoky Eye edition, and Eye Brights edition. Of course I got all three!! Did I mention they were only $5?? Insane price for such good quality shadows. They also come with a black eyeliner and eyeshadow applicator, which I won't be using...but the eyeshadows are so worth it! So for all the gals looking for some good quality eyeshadows on a budget....these BeautyBooks are definitely worth a try! I didn't find the exact ones on Elf's website. However, they do carry a similar, if not the same product, the Beauty Encyclopedias. These BeautyBooks may just be exclusively in stores....

Review: Maybelline Volum' Express the Falsies Mascara

So recently on one of my weekly (yes, I said WEEKLY) trips to Target, something caught my eye while browsing the makeup aisle...A beautiful purple colored little tube! I LOVE purple, so naturally anything purple or close to it draws my attention.

Well it was the new Maybelline Volum' Express the Falsies mascara in Very Black...I had heard a little bit about it before but for some reason wasn't that interested...A mascara that gives you a false lash effect..yeah right! I have a ton of mascaras and they hardly ever live up to the claims. My HG has been L'Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black..yeah that stuff is great for a dramatic lash effect..BUT I needed a good everyday work mascara...

So of course I HAD to buy the Falsies mascara..took it home...sat for about a week..Then I finally tried it one morning and OMG..yes it is all that in a bag of chips (lol I know... how corny of me)...I LOVE this mascara! I can honestly say that it makes my eyelashes look False! I mean a good kind of false (is there a such thing? yes)..They look natural but the way it darkens, thickens, separates, and elongates my lashes....anyone would suspect they could possibly be false....

Well any who I love it no matter what anyone suspects or thinks..I have pretty sparse lashes..so for me this is GREAT! On Maybelline's website it claims the mascara's "Patented Spoon brush and Kera-fiber formula instantly build 8x more volume". ..and I can testify to that because it really makes my lashes fuller..The wand is nice and flexible but not too filmsy..Just enough hardness (is that a word?) to get a good grip on lashes.

To all that have yet to try..run out and get it now! You can purchase it at any of your local drugstores for about $6-8 bucks..
