La Femme Cosmetics Blush Review

Besides lip glosses, blushes are definitely another weakness of mine (OK let me be real..ALL makeup is a weakness of mine! lol)...But truly blushes are one of my favorites. Within the last couple of years, I have discovered blushes after joining different makeup forums and watching you-tube videos raving about blush. I have always been into makeup, but for some reason I always avoided blushes. That is until I discovered the true value of a great blush. It really does add that something extra to the complexion and can really make your face glow...

Well I had read and saw a couple of reviews on these La femme blushes. What interested me most was the insane pigmentation people raved about. Being the brown skin girl that I am, pigmentation is a must. So I decided to try these out and yes they are LOVE <3. Definitely pigmented and they come in an array of different colors. Textures range from matte, low shimmer, and high shimmer. I placed my first order back in November and picked up Terra Cotta, Russet, Purple Passion, Golden Russet, Golden Rose, and Framboesia. Once I received these I knew I HAD to have more. Next I ordered Sienna, Plum Frost, Peach Sparkle (on backorder), Mocha, Golden Ruby, Cinnabar, and Bordeaux.

These blushes are everything I ever wanted in a blush...pigmented, smooth, and silky. The best part of these blushes is that they are extremely affordable. I ordered mine from makeupmania.com for $2.50 each! I ordered them in the pan, but you can also order them in the pot for $3.00. I ordered a 15 pan palette from bf-beauty.com for about $7 that fits them perfectly. LOVE these blushes. They definitely rival some of my MAC blushes. My favorites right now are Sienna, Terra Cotta, and Plum Frost.

Check out the sample pics below to see the pigmentation. These definitely must be used with a light hand for the risk of looking like a clown...lol

Hope you check them out!

LORAC Tie Dye For Lip Gloss Collection Review

And just when I thought no other lip gloss could come between me and my NYX Megashine lip glosses.....I discovered these beauties! The LORAC Tie Dye lip glosses are not only pretty in the tube, but oh so nice on the lips! I had been eyeing these for a while in Sephora, Ulta and online. I am a total lip gloss whore lol..I have more lip glosses than I care to count! :(

So I was hesistant to try them out, but finally took the plunge and bought them. I mean my NYX glosses do me well and they will always be my babies, but these were still calling me. I love a very opague and pigmented lip gloss. My lips are pretty darkly pigmented, so I have to use a gloss that will actually show true to color on my lips. These lip glosses are definitely just that..highly pigmented, non-sticky, and with one swipe of the brush they cover great.

The lip gloss collection retails for $25 and comes with 5 glosses: Flaming Mix (Red), Berry Blender (Purple), Shocking Twist (Fuchsia), In the Mix (Nude) and Social Mixer (Pale pink).

They have a beautiful tie dye effect in the tube making them look so yummy! Although many colors appear in the tube, they ultimately come out as one color. The glosses also have some really good for your lips ingredients including: Acai Berry, Pomegranate, Grape Seed oil, Coconut oil, and Apricot oil. They are very moisturizing to the lips. I love these a lot. My favorites at the moment is the Berry Blender and In the Mix.

So if you haven't already, check these out. You definitely won't regret it! :)

My Top 10 Beauty Product Faves of 2010

I was recently in one of my favorite beauty/makeup forums Specktra and someone started a "Top 10 products reached for in 2010" thread. I starting thinking about my own and there were many! But I finally posted this narrowed down list. I love to see what other people posted as their favorites. A lot of products were some of my own favorites and others I had never tried. This really gave me some great ideas for my beauty/makeup shopping list for 2011. So I thought I'd share my own favorites here and maybe someone else can see some things to try out for 2011...

1. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish (MSF) Natural in Deep Dark
I love this for everyday! It gives a very natural and light base. I buff this in with my beloved ELF powder brush and keep it moving...
2. Urban Decay Naked Palette
This is my LOVE!! This is definitely one product that lives up to the hype! The range of colors and quality of eyeshadows are great for my everyday work looks...so versatile!
3. MAC Groundwork Paint Pot
Definitely my go to base for eyeshadows. I usually use this as a base and primer. My eyeshadows stay put all day. It is the perfect eyeshadow base for my MAC NW45 skin...
4. ELF powder brush
This is the best brush for use with my MSF! I love this brush! It is so soft and dense... <3
5. Ecotools blush brush
This is a really great brush for apply blush to the apple of my cheeks. I have been trying out a lot of blushes this past year and this is the perfect brush for it. It is really soft and dense enough to get a good application.
6. MAC Fresh Brew Lipstick
I more recently discovered Fresh Brew in my hunt for the perfect nude lip. I love the feel of this lipstick and the color is bomb for an instant nude lip...
7. NYX Megashine Lipgloss in Desert
This is my longtime love. I just love this color! It is hard to describe..it is as kind of taupe, purplish and even a bit greyish color. OK that was bad! I am not good at describing colors...lol. Any hoo just try it...you will love it if you like colors like this...I also love NYX Megashine lipglosses...they are very opaque and feel good on the lips..
8. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Toffee Tango
I have really been loving all the Color Sensational lipsticks! They are so creamy and glide on nicely with a bit of sheen. Toffee Tango is a great everyday neutral brownish color...love it <3
9. Maybelline Full 'n Soft mascara in Very Black
This mascara has been around for a while, but I just recently discovered it's goodness! Great mascara for everyday..it gives my lashes volume and length without being too dramatic for everyday.
10. Stila Illuminating Finishing Powder in Rose Gold
Another product I just recently discovered, but this is the bomb.com! I love this for a nice highlight above the cheekbone. I will even layer this over a blush for a little extra oomph...It has very fine shimmer, but the trick is too apply it lightly or you could end up looking like a disco ball....

Well this is definitely a narrow down list. I have so many loves, but these were definitely my favorites and most reached for in 2010.

What were some of your favorites??

Back Again and CVS Sale Alert!!!!

WOW..I can not believe how time flies! I have been MIA again and yes  I feel so bad...I have neglected my blog! Life is sooo unpredictable and  there is not enough time in the day! I sincerely had great intentions when starting this blog. I told myself I would never neglect it no matter what! Ughhh...But I have sadly done just that. Well I can not say enough I am sorry to my followers old and new. Thank you all who have followed and continue to follow...I do plan to get back into the swing of things soon. I just wanted to stop by and spill that little tidbit...

Well I have definitely not neglected my beauty addictions! Lol..in fact I think I have been doing a little too much lately. With the holidays just past and all the great sales going on, I have acquired a great deal of new products. Which brings me to the next.....

ALERT CVS is having their infamous twice a year 50-75% off cosmetics sale right now!! So if you have not been to your local CVS lately...RUN! There are many great deals to be had. I will not go into a lot of details because I plan to do a seperate post on some things I picked up. But do expect to find deals on every cosmetic brand from Revlon, Maybelline, Rimmel, Sally Hansen, etc.

Also, just a heads up even if some items are not visibily marked with either a 50% or 75% off sticker they may still be on sale. So be sure to price check when in doubt...

P.S. Happy NEW YEAR!!! Hope everyone's new year is starting out great!
